The Connor Homes Ontario Residential Treatment Network provides assessment, consultation and therapy services in partnership with Quinte Assessment and Treatment Group and Quinte Counselling Services, both in person and through a televideo system. Aftercare includes ongoing services for youth and Professional Caregivers as well as training and therapy sessions for biological parents, caregivers and other community partners.

Connor Homes is a private organization that provides residential treatment to child/youth and is looking for “ professional parents” .

The job of a Professional Caregiver is to look after 1 to 4 children and create a family like environment; living in the home with the children. You will live in the home with the children on a day to day base with scheduled relief during which time a relief team assumes the day to day responsibilities in the home.

The Treatment home will be Managed by the House manager and supported by child and youth care workers, regional director, psychologist, and therapists.

Individuals who have worked with, or have been trained in caring for children using a cognitive behavioural approach are an asset to our organization.

You must have a valid driver’ s license and a clean criminal record. You must have good communication skills; have computer skills, some administrative skills and the ability to budget expenses. It is important to be able and willing to work within a team and to accept the structure, guidelines, and policies and procedures of our organization.

We offer regular training and around the clock support and our Professional Caregivers and child care workers have access to a counselor/therapist when needed.

Seeking Professional Caregivers of First Nation ethnicity and/or is knowledgeable of First Nation history, heritage and culture. Professional Caregivers must be sensitive to First Nation issues and actively participate in needed training. Connor Homes aims to ensure cultural competency and thus Professional Caregiver must incorporate cultural programming into their homes, such as ensuring youth attend cultural activities, ceremonies and pow wows.
