4 male/female bed foster home
Closest center: North Bay, ON

This residence is a four bed parent model treatment foster home for males and females. The residence offers a structured and predictable environment for hard to serve youth. We use positive reinforcement of desirable behaviours supported by the use of natural and logical consequences. We support youth working towards semi-independence, long term care or reintegration with their families. This home is supported with bi-weekly therapy, psychological consultation, educational assessments, native programming and recreational programmes.

This home is on the school bus route to both public and catholic school systems. It is located next to a small park and is within walking distance to the arena and lake. There is a local public school that serves 60 children. This is a very active home that participates in many local activities. It is equipped with many toys, a fenced back yard and play area for smaller children. The houseparent has many years experience working with native children on Bear Island.
